A budget phone with some questionable design choices.
The next ultrabudget phone under Xiaomi’s Redmi series is now official. The phone is equipped with the Snapdragon 680, which is the phone’s main highlight. Before you get your excitements up, take note that the processor is technically similar to the Helio G85, which is very popular among budget phones
Comparing it to the Redmi 9C, this phone is a significant improvement, at least in terms of performance. The Helio G35 gets smoked easily by the more powerful Snapdragon 680. Another added bonus is the inclusion of fast charging which is quite rare for budget phones. This processor is paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.
The display is still HD+ in resolution and that’s expected. The phone feels more like a downgrade of the Redmi 10, which is a very good thing because it is priced way below that phone, and competes with ultra-budget phones like the Infinix Hot 11 Play and Realme Narzo 50i
The main camera is identical to the Redmi 10, being a 50mp sensor. In comparison to its predecessor, this one has more resolution, about 37mp more. The front camera is the same resolution as its predecessor of 5mp. The 50mp sensor comes with a 2mp depth camera which is totally unnecessary.
There’s the headphone jack as well as the MicroSD Card slot. It comes in three colours, which are Graphite Gray, Mint Green, and Ocean Blue.
We’re waiting for Philippines availability. We’re expecting ita availability, being a budget phone. Oh, we’re not expecting a lot from its software, since MIUI is known to have several issues when it comes to budget phones. Take a look at the Redmi 9T and its bootloop issues for instance.
