Oppo x Hasselblad would be the next feature for their future flagships.
OnePlus used to be an independent company, however, a few months back, the company has announced that they will be absorbed by Oppo but would still run on the OnePlus brand. In other words, the company is now a subbrand of Oppo, allowing the company to obtain some of OnePlus’ platforms, such as the Hasselblad collaboration.
Oppo has struck a 3-year deal with Hasselblad. If you can recall, Hasselblad collaborated with OnePlus, first appearing on the OnePlus 9 series, with some pretty disappointing results.
The first Oppo phone to take advantage of Hasselblad’s imaging technology is the Find X5, a follow-up to the successful Find X3 series.
A render created by WinFuture, a German tipster, has shown us what the Find X5 would look like. The main notable feature here is the MariSilicon marking on the rear camera as well as a slightly redesigned camera hump that’s now uneven and less of an iPhone-ish design. According to the rumour, the phone would launch with a very high price that’s ‘beyond’ EUR 1200 (~Php 69.8K), though this may be the highest configuration and not the base one, and this is for the Pro model. We’re expecting that the base X5 would also have imaging tech from Hasselblad.
One thing we’re hoping is that, because of Oppo’s larger budget on R&D, the photo quality is significantly improved this time and it’s not just for marketing hype. If you can recall, Oppo has developed its own imaging sensor for the X3 series called MariSilicon X. It worked well for the X3 series and we’re expecting it on the X5 series as well.
