One version of the phone comes with an in-display camera, as teased.
About a few days ago, the Moto Edge X30, as well as the S30, were teased to be released with exciting features most notable were the in-display camera and the SD8G1 processor. Today, it’s official in China, and the teasers weren’t lying either.
The phone uses a 6.7in. OLED panel with 144Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. The regular X30 comes with a punch-hole for its 60mp front camera. There’s also the X30 SE with an in-display camera.
Starting with the cameras, the X30 and X30 SE come with two 50mp cameras and a 2mp depth camera that was forced to be on the phone when they should have not really included it. The first one is a 50MP Omnivision OV50A sensor with 1/1.55in. sensor size, 2.0µm pixel size, and OIS. The second is a Samsung ISOCELL S5KGM1 ultrawide sensor, and finally, there’s also the aforementioned 2mp depth camera. The phone can record in 8K@30fps which is probably unnecessary in a normal situation.
In terms of processor, there’s the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. The world’s first as others try to develop their own flagships as well. According to Motorola, this processor scored an enormous 1,061,361 points over at AnTuTu which is pretty impressive since no other processor in the previous generation actually gained a score this high, it’s also the highest on the platform since the Mediatek Dimensity 9000 (though that has no official phone yet). It has the Snapdragon X65 modem with 5G support. The phone has support with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
In terms of battery, there’s a 5000mAh battery with 68W fast charging. It boots with MYUI based on Android 12.

Motorola Moto Edge S30
The Motorola Moto Edge S30 is a flagship phone in equal dimensions as the Motorola Moto G200 released internationally. While a flagship, it uses the previous-gen Snapdragon 888+ 5G which is still pretty capable and competitive compared to phones released within the year. Over the next few years, the Snapdragon 888+ 5G would soon be considered an upper-midrange chipset rather than a flagship, but it’s not necessarily bad or slow.
It is one of the rare flagships to helm a 6.8in. IPS LCD with 144Hz refresh rate. This refresh rate can go as low as 48Hz depending on the need of the device as it is adjustable.
Three cameras are used for this phone. The first is a 108mp main sensor, the second is a 13mp ultrawide, and a 2mp depth sensor. The front-facing camera is the default 16mp sensor.
The phone has a 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging. It also boots with Android 11 which is by no means outdated and multiple apps still support it.
