The Redmi Note 11 series and the Redmi Watch 2 are set for release on 28th October in China

One variant comes with 120W fast charging! A one-of-a-kind for mainstream budget phones.

The Redmi Note is arguably Redmi’s most popular series, as it oftentimes stun the market with an aggressive spec sheet while also remaining a budget phone. It’s a rare occasion, and very few smartphone makers can compete to what Xiaomi releases for the Redmi Note line. Realme is its closest competitors with the Realme Number series.

So, what is Xiaomi bringing to the table for the Note 11? As you may have recalled, Xiaomi brought the SAMOLED screen down to the budget range. It isn’t exactly new however to see an AMOLED screen at a price of a budget phone is quite stunning. Not only that but the processor in these phones are usually seen in midrange phones costing Php15K (~USD 300). This time, Xiaomi teased that the 120W fast charging tech, probably the series’ biggest selling point, is coming right at the budget range. A stunning move.

This was first seen on Weibo, a Chinese social media site that is technically a fusion between Facebook and Twitter. Also, one would notice the date of the launch of the phone in China. It’s 28th October 7pm. The phone referring to above might be the highest end, the Redmi Note 11 Pro (if that’s what they’re gonna call it). One variant of the phone would receive a 33 or 67W charging instead.

Xiaomi practically revealed everything in its teasers, so watching the live may be a little redundant unless you want to know even more technicalities. Another feature they teased are the use of an AG Glass back and the AMOLED screen which they have retained from the previous series. Based on the Redmi Note 10 Pro, we can safely say one of these devices would feature a high refresh rate, as high as 120Hz.

In terms of design, it is almost similar to the Redmi 10 and Redmi Note 10, particularly the rear camera arrangement. One colour has been teased that showcases this design, called Misty Forest (roughly translated in Chinese). One poster revealed the contents of the top and bottom portions of the phone. Seen above are stereo speakers that are custom-tuned by JBL, and in addition, the company has retained the headphone jack, which means the phone is perfect for audiophiles who love listening to lossless sounds. On the right, you can clearly see the volume buttons as well as the power button. Of course, who would forget the Xiaomi tradition of including the IR port in every phone they have released, well apart for some units like the Xiaomi Mi 8 and the Mi Mix 1, 2, 2S and 3.

Though slightly obscure, it appears that the Note 11 series would have a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The company is teasing a series, so there is more than one phone being disclosed. Right now, the phone being teased may be the highest-end version, we’ll call it Redmi Note 11 Pro for now.

In terms of battery and performance, we can only go so far to rumours. According to latest rumours, the Pro variant will get the Dimensity 920 SoC. This is configured to 6/128, 8/128 and 8/256 trim options. The regular Redmi Note 11 will sport a Dimensity 810 SoC instead and there are only two configurations, the 6/128 and 8/128 trim options. For battery, the Pro would get a 5000mAh battery with 120W fast charging as mentioned. The regular would be getting a 5000mAh battery as well, but only 33W fast charging is mentioned by the rumours.

As seen on the photos above, the Redmi Note 11 would sport a triple camera system (the Note 11 Pro would more likely carry a 108mp sensor, like its predecessor), along with a dot notch. Nothing much is changed in terms of exterior design. According to teasers, the phone is 8.34mm thick, the bezels are 1.75mm and the punch-hole is 2.96mm. Nothing much is announced about its weight, screen size and other dimensions, but surely more would be announced during the day of its launch.

Expect that a spec sheet as well as actual Philippine Peso prices would be coming from us once the phones have been officially released here.

The Redmi Watch 2 has also been teased and is launching alongside the Redmi Note 11. Judging from its design, it looks like a copy of the Apple Watch series. The watch has been teased to come with a 1.6in. AMOLED screen and fresh new colour schemes, which should be announced, along with its other features and specs, on 28th October.
