Get ready to be shocked to how much it costs. It’s just as golden as the realme 16 Pro Plus!

The luxurious and premium-feeling realme 16 Pro series is launched in the Philippines alongside the realme 16. Unlike the latter, the realme 16 Pro series comes with a much more “realme” look than a Google Pixel look, and is quite original in terms of aesthetic. Still, we can’t help but look how oddly the realme logo is placed, reminiscing the early days of the realme X2.
While the realme 16 Pro and Pro+ share the same design, the internal are quite different. You can identify which phone is which through their color options as the realme 16 Pro+ only comes in a single “Master Gold” color, while the realme 16 Pro comes in Orchid Purple and Pebble Grey, both themed after rock forms.
realme 16 Pro:
the realme 16 Pro, like the rest of the series, is a phone dedicated to those who love taking group photos and selfies. It’s the most extrovert phone we’ve seen this year. This includes realme’s LumaColor feature, which boosts vibrancy and saturation, making each image stand out more.
Speaking of cameras, the realme 16 Pro features a 200MP primary camera, made by Samsung. It also features a 50MP selfie camera like the realme 16. These two features are retained with the realme 16 Pro+ as well. The other rear cameras include an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro camera. It’s for aesthetic reasons. Unlike the realme 16 featuring a so-called “selfie-mirror”, the realme 16 Pro and Pro+ lacks it, aiming for a more traditional camera experience.
The realme 16 Pro features a strong MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Max chipset paired with 8 or 12GB RAM and 256 or 512GB ROM. Though, the Dimensity 7300 is not the newest chipset, being released late last year, it still is quite competitive in early 2026 and can keep up with rivals for a longer time. Also, as with the realme 16, the realme 16 Pro features a 7000mAh battery but with a significantly faster 80W charging.
The realme 16 Pro features a 1.5K (2772x1222px) AMOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate, which is quite rare outside of gaming phones, and even some flagships. As with the realme 16, the realme 16 Pro+ retains the same IP66/68/69/69K rating, allowing you to use it under pools for 30 minutes for those sweet underwater shots. If you ever want to use the phone for taking pictures of pretty fish and corals under the sea, you still need a waterproof lock bag to not corrode the internal parts.
Among other features, the realme 16 Pro features stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint scanner, 5G services, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity.
The phone also has a questionable pricing. It starts at PHP 31,999 and that’s just the 8/256 option. To compare, the Honor 400 Pro is priced at PHP 32,999 and comes with 12GB RAM and 256GB ROM and comes with a stronger flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Other competitors include the Vivo V70 which is priced similarly to the realme 16. It also comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB ROM but with a newer Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus which is priced at PHP 27,999, a very competitive price for its range. It comes with a 200MP camera as well, alongside a similar-performing Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset and 12GB RAM and 256GB ROM.

realme 16 Pro Plus:
Things get spiced up with the highest-end realme 16 Pro Plus. It retains same screen features and large 7000mAh battery with 80W fast charging, but that’s where the similarities end.
The main upgrade here, aside from its pretty gold colorway, is the camera array. Now, it features three functioning cameras. The main 200MP camera now uses the more modern Samsung ISOCELL HP5 and the phone swaps the 2MP macro, which is gimmicky, for a functional 50MP telephoto camera with 7x lossless zoom. The ultrawide camera and selfie camera remain unchanged, however.
The realme 16 Pro Plus also uses a slightly better Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, like many other midrange phones released today. The phone only comes with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 3.1 storage.
The phone is actually a callback to the realme GT Master series, wherein aesthetics is upgraded and realme partners with renowned global designers worldwide. While it looks plain gold at first glance, if a user zooms in closely, they can find a pattern that is subtle and strong, adding to the aesthetic. This time, realme partnered with Naoto Fukusawa to create a lasting, luxurious impression that reminds users of what the realme GT Master series stood for.
As mentioned earlier, the phone comes in a single color, Master Gold. The phone is priced at PHP 43,999 which is considered high-tier midrange pricing nowadays. In terms of the competition, you get the Oppo Reno15 Pro which is more expensive (PHP 49,999) but at the same time, you get a stronger MediaTek Dimensity 8450 chipset, and better cameras consisting of a 200MP primary and two 50MP cameras, includin the ultrawide. Other competitors include the Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro+ once more, as well as the Honor 400 Pro which again comes with a flagship chipset (Snapdragon 8 Gen 3) and is priced at PHP 32,999, and the Xiaomi 15T which is a dedicated filming phone with Leica lenses, 12GB RAM and 512GB ROM, and a MediaTek Dimensity 8400-Ultra, priced at PHP 28,999. This phone comes with a smaller battery and slightly slower charging, however.
