You Can Still Pre-Order the Honor X9d and Get a Chance to Win a NEW CYBERTRUCK!

It’s tough, surprisingly priced well, and could probably survive a nuke attack (not advisable though)

On January 9th, Honor revealed a big bang for the new year. The successor to the X9c is here, marketed with the same level of toughness as its predecessor but with extra bells and whistles. The phone also now features a flat display and get this, CRACK PROTECTION! Many fans and even mainstream media have been asking this insurance for so long, and Honor Philippines listened.

The X9d is very similar to the X9c, minus the secondary front camera which does not have a lot of uses anyway. The phone now has a golden flair around it, reminding us of the old Huawei Mate phones.

TOUGH? As they say…

The Honor X9d, under the hood, is a typical midrange phone. It features a 108MP primary camera with OIS and a 5MP auxiliary camera for aesthetic reasons, a 6.8 inch 1.5K (2640x1200px) AMOLED display which houses the good ol’ 16MP selfie camera that has been in use for many phones since 2021. Don’t fix what’s not broken. By the way, this display has 6000nits of brightness which is terrifyingly blinding.

The phone is not intended for hardcore gaming, with its Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset inside. It can do multitasking, maybe for opening multiple apps at once, but don’t expect it to handle demanding games like Wuthering Waves to its highest graphics settings. Complementing the X9d is 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Oddly enough, unlike the X9c, a 512GB option is nowhere to be seen.

The battery is huge, going at a whopping 8300mAh split into two cels. Expect this to be the trend moving forward. With a battery this big, 10W simply isn’t enough. The Honor X9d has a generous 66W charging rate. We wish tablets were treated the same way.

As Honor markets the phone for toughness, the phone is rated IP69K. This means it can withstand tough weather conditions and tight protection against dust and debris. The K? Well, you see those videos wherein people dump the X9d onto boiling hot water? Yep, the phone is also tested and certified to withstand boiling temperatures of up to 80C.

But the true highlight of the phone and the event, at least for us, is the certified crack protection, for every consumers’ peace-of-mind. See, in other markets like Malaysia, Honor is already honoring a one-time free screen replacement, so we, and so many others were asking when are we going to get this sweet treat? Turns out, it’s right now! So, if you accidentally break the screen, which is nigh hard, you can be sure Honor will be replacing it to you for free. OLED screens can be as costly as the phone itself, so this gesture is appreciated from the brand.
