Now with a slim design and, you guessed it! MediaTek chipsets!
Infinix has launched the new Hot 60 Pro series in Nigeria with plentiful of colorful designs and a slim feel. Both the 60 Pro and 60 Pro Plus were released simultaneously. We’ll take a look at the 60 Pro first.
INFINIX HOT 60 PRO:
The new phones come with a design called “Color Pop”, highlighting their vibrant and extroverted look. It is a budget phone through and through with some extra bells and whistles. By that, we mean extra gimmicks.
Let’s start with the chipset. Yes, it says “Helio G200” right there but really, this is just the Helio G99 for the 200th time. Because G100 is getting really stale and somehow, MediaTek still wants to keep the 4G-only Helio series for some reason without noticeable improvements. As it is a reskinned G99, it retains the same architecture and 6nm process.
The display is quite a shock. It’s a high-resolution display with a whopping 144Hz refresh rate! You’d rarely see this on any kind of device, not even flagships. However there is certainly a hunch to this, the main one that this is synthetically 144Hz. This means Infinix has tweaked its software to make it seem like the display is inputting that refresh rate. What we’re certain is that the resolution is hardware-based and is real.
The Infinix Hot 60 Pro carries a 50MP primary camera at the back and two unnamed auxiliary cameras. The front houses the 13MP selfie camera. The phone also has a MicroSD Card slot.
The phone charges pretty fast too, faster than the newly released Samsung Galaxy S25 flagships with 45W rate. It also has a modest 5160mAh battery size to keep it going for long.
The phone has a design language called “Scent Weave” and apparently the phone itself smells like fresh wood, particularly for the green and orange colors.
Finally, speaking of colours, Infinix has boasted its slim size of only 6.6mm and a light 170g weight. The phone has a USB-C port, an in-display fingerprint scanner, 4G LTE access, and Dual-band Wi-Fi. There are 6 colors to choose from. These colors include Coral Tides, Sapphire Blue, Jungle Breath (pictured), Orange Rose Valley, the boringly named Titanium Silver, and the corporately named Sleek Black. Clearly, Infinix couldn’t find a creatively wacky name for the grey and black ones, so they remained “as is”.
INFINIX HOT 60 PRO PLUS:
The Hot 60 Pro Plus shares a lot of things from its slightly weaker sibling. The same chipset is carried over, so is the Sony IMX882 main camera, display resolution and refresh rate, charging rate (45W), and battery size.
However, there are some distinct differences. You can tell the two apart just by the display. The Hot 60 Pro Plus features a curved display whereas the Hot 60 Pro is only flat. The colour options are also different. The colors are now called Coral Tides, Misty Violet, Moco Cyber Green, Sonic Yellow (pictured), and the more “normal” Titanium Grey and Sleek Black.
Both phones apparently are using space-grade aluminium and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. The back is also made of fiberglass for that premium look.
While both phones are available for Nigerians to enjoy, Infinix Philippines is yet to tell us about its local release date and pricing. So, stay tuned!
