Dodging all obstacles.
It has been five years since Doogee disappeared from the Philippines. Their last device was the Doogee Mix 2, a clone of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 with a cheaper price tag and display, and arguably their most popular device. There had been some financial mixups within the company and has also largely disappeared in global eyes.
However, we got news from our colleague Igue Bonifacio that the brand is marking its anticipated return in the country. From the cover, we can expect that the brand’s first product is a tablet. Our good friend Liennel Singson spotted it online. It’s a budget tablet called the T30 Pro with an 11″ WXGA+ display, a 3.5mm jack, a 20MP Sony rear camera, a lightweight and premium design, and a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset. It comes with 8GB RAM (+7GB virtual) and 256GB ROM. It is also powered by an 8580mAh battery with 18W fast charging, though apparently, it ships with a 27W PD charger.
The company is known for their obscure budget phones. Unlike Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, and even Meizu, Doogee really never made it big globally and always has been on the sidelines. Like the others, they use a proprietary Android Skin which resembles iOS, to load up their devices. Today, the brand is known for their rugged phones and competes with companies like Ulefone and Blackview. With that said, we’re expecting rugged phones from them if ever they succeed.
