If that isn’t overkill, we don’t know what is
The Ace 2 Pro has launched in China not as a gaming device but as a multi-use one. The Ace series usually makes its global appearance under a different name. The Ace 2V for example, made it to global markets, including the Philippines, as the Nord 3.

What’s really interesting about the Ace 2 Pro is its RAM and Storage capacity. You’re getting a non-virtual 24GB LPDDR5 RAM in there plus 1TB UFS 4.1 Storage! That makes the phone quite an overkill and frankly, could outclass even budget gaming PCs. This was the main focus of the leaks after all because that sounds unbelievable. It’s real now but still really unbelievable, so that’s a great move, OnePlus!
Another feature here is the rather large 10,000sqm dissipating area, the largest of any smartphone, beating even gaming phones. This was achieved thanks to a new vapour chamber design. The design of the phone itself is rooted from the OnePlus 11 series.
The phone has a 6.74″ AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate. Nothing new so far. This has a 1.5K resolution (2772x1240px). Not quite QHD but it’s getting there. This has a similar resolution as with the Oppo Reno 10 Pro+ . In addition, the screen is very bright, topping out at 1600nits.
The chipset here is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Nothing new but thanks to the heat dissipation system, this chipset may perform better than the one inside the Ace 2.
There are three cameras at the back although they are not really highlighted. It uses the same identical cameras as the Nord 3. That is a 50MP Sony IMX890 primary, an 8MP Ultrawide, and a 2MP macro camera. The front is the same too, a 16MP selfie shooter.
The phone has a 5000mAh battery with an impressively fast 150W fast charging that was adapted from the previous phones of the same series. Remember that even the Nubia Red Magic 8S tops at 65W. According to OnePlus, this baby can charge from empty to full in just 17 minutes using its proprietary charger. The phone has a built-in battery management chip to help protect the battery from rapid deterioration. It doesn’t appear to have the alert slider. What a shame. It has an in-display fingerprint scanner however.
There are three phones in the series, and, as a longtime partner for Genshin Impact, there is also a Paimon-themed phone released just in time to celebrate version 4.0 with a new character called Lynette in the world of Fontaine. The regular phones in the series come in Aurora Green and Titanium Grey.
The 24GB/1TB option is priced at CNY 3,999 (~PHP 30.8K) which is surprisingly very affordable for a phone with this caliber. Overkill? Then the Ace 2 Pro also comes in 12/256 and 16/512 which cost CNY 2,999 (~PHP 23.1K/ USD 411.74) and CNY 3,399 (~PHP 26.2K/ USD 466.65) respectively.
Meanwhile, you can bring home the emergency food for CNY 3,599 (~PHP 27.8K/ USD 494.09) which also comes with 16GB RAM and 512GB ROM.
