We do miss having Motorola around in the Philippines. Sadly, it never clicked, like TCL.
While Philippines is not Motorola’s best suit, India seems to be loving these simple phones with little to no bloatware, as they have been selling well there. The company also is performing pretty great in its hometown, the United States.
The successor to the G13 has been announced and launched. It is available on Flipkart. The G14 is your basic budget phone with a UNISOC T616 chipset, a 50MP+2MP dual camera system, an 8MP selfie, and a 60Hz FullHD+ (2400x1080px) IPS LCD screen. One of its main selling points is the use of a UFS 2.2 storage system which is usually available only on phones priced at PHP 10K and above. It also has stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, something that you cannot see at its tier.
Finally, it has a 5000mAh battery and 20W fast charging. It also has a 3.5mm jack, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and an IP52 rating so it could withstand splashes.
In India, it is available for INR 9,999 (~PHP 6.8K) and comes with 4GB RAM and 128GB ROM. It boots with a modified version of Android 13 out of the box and keeps a similar linear design as its predecessor. Colours include Pale Lilac and Butter Cream Vegan Leather.
