Uh oh, a lawsuit is waiting.
A few weeks ago, Infinix teased in its community a brand new series of smartphones with an entirely new design called the GT series (how original). The new phone, GT 10 Pro, features a familiar-looking transparent back and guess what? some lighting effects too! Where did we see this? Hmm… it’s probably nothing. Its lighting is not made out of dot matrices but you can still play around with it like the other phone can.
In a nutshell, the GT 10 Pro is a redesigned Note 30 VIP. It comes with a similar spec sheet and camera island layout.
If Tecno has the POVA series, then Infinix has the GT series. The HOT series isn’t technically a gaming phone so they have to come up with something. The gaming sector is a very large market with huge potential and Infinix surely wants to tap into it. They are already partners with Free Fire and Mobile Legends so why stop there?
Starting with the chipset, it is a MediaTek Dimensity 8050 (Dimensity 1300) manufactured using a 6nm TSMC process and consists of a 4+4 setup (Cortex-A78@3GHz main cores and Cortex-A55 efficiency cores) and a 9-core Mali-G77 GPU.
In terms of display, it is a 6.67″ AMOLED with 10-bit support and a 60-120Hz refresh rate. It also features a fast (for its price) 360Hz touch sampling rate. This display is not your low-end AMOLED unlike some other budget phones, this here comes with 1920Hz Hi-frequency PWM Dimming to reduce flicker.
As with the Note 30 VIP, the GT 10 Pro has a 108MP primary camera (alongside the unnecessary 2MP helpers) and a 32MP selfie camera. None of these cameras have OIS because that would mean a heftier sales price and the phone isn’t exactly designed for photographers in mind.
A 5000mAh battery powers the phone paired with 45W fast charging and supports Power Delivery 3.0 chargers as well. Unlike the Nothing Phone, this lacks wireless charging.
The phone comes with a modified xOS 13 based on Android 13. They call it Pure xOS 13 because this has fewer ads than their usual smartphone lineup (the keyword being fewer). Its box is also pretty special as it can transform into an amplifier and a dock. Futuristic!
The phone isn’t available yet in the Philippines but it will sell for around USD 240-250 (~PHP 13.3K-13.8K) price tags in other regions of the globe.
