Ready to pre-order the ring light vlogging phone? That’s the V27 series!

Vivo said that you could bring studio-level lighting directly through your phone! Now isn’t that camera centric?

The Vivo V27 series is the newest line of camera and video-centric phones from Vivo. Its main highlight aside from the fact that it finally transitioned to using a dot notch and its 32MP camera, is the rear ring light, which, according to many articles, may revolutionize photography. That’s what Vivo is saying at least.

By the way, Vivo has listed the V27e on its website and we’ve seen the phone in person in multiple authorized resellers. That means this phone is ready to pre-order. We’re not sure yet of the regular V27, and the Pro version may not be available here if our sources tell us correctly. (Don’t worry, it’s only a chipset change that’s different from the two).

To recall, the V27e is the successor to the V25e with improvements in the design. Notably, the circular ring light flash at the back. It features a 6.62″ FullHD+ (2400x1080px) AMOLED screen with a 120Hz variable refresh rate. It retained the same chipset from the V25e, the 6nm Helio G99 paired with 8GB RAM + 256GB internal storage. Because the Android system is already eating a lot of what’s left of the storage, you need a way to expand it. Thankfully, this phone has a MicroSD Card slot. Also, there’s the gimmicky Virtual RAM which has the effects of placebo.

Now, the main highlight, the camera array! The front camera has 32MP resolution (fixed focus; the fancy stabilization is reserved for the much more premium V27) and the rear camera is a set of triple camera sensors. Notably, the 64MP Primary. Even though macro cameras are seen to be not as useful as it should be, Vivo still retained it, alongside the 2MP depth sensor. In a way, only the primary camera truly functions.

Speaking of the front camera, the phone has a dual-view mode in which both the rear and front cameras function, similar to a facecam so vlogging is a lot easier and more convenient. You could choose from dual screen or Picture-in-Picture (PIP), the latter of which simulates more similarly to vlogging face cams.

That rear ring flash is revolutionary according to sponsored articles. Vivo calls this flash “aura light”. The idea was, instead of a regular flash, the camera installed a ring light at the back which improves portrait effects and to retain a more natural colour and skin tone. It also is intended to emulate soft light photos found in photo studios. These features, according to Vivo, allows the user to have studio standard lighting right at their fingertips.

It has a 4600mAh battery paired with 44W fast charging. This seems to be the standard for many of Vivo’s phones. It also will boot up with FunTouchOS 13 based on Android 13. The phone has an in-display fingerprint sensor, Dual-band Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, and Bluetooth connectivity as well.

In stores we’ve seen, the phone retails for Php 16,990 and comes in Glory Black and Lavender Purple. Pre-order is on-going. We’ll let you know if the Vivo V27 is coming as well.
