Bonifacio Global City (BGC) is a frequently visited business center and is one of the country’s most important business areas. Here, various malls, shops, skyscrapers, events, parks, and condominiums reside. The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) is also located here. Three days ago, Bonifacio High Street, a frequently visited park, showcased the country’s first 3D billboard. Maya even showed an ad through it.
The billboard is a 400sqm L-shaped screen located along the corner of 5th Avenue. It uses anamorphic technology to create the illusion of depth. Anamorphic technology utilizes sharp pixels and distortion of perspective art to display images and videos that may be seen “popping out” of the screen. Other countries such as Japan and the United Kingdom, have their own versions as well.
Alfie Reyes, chief operating officer in Fort Bonifacio Development Corp, the company that developed the 3D billboard believed that now is the perfect time to unveil it as the pandemic wanes and people are starting to move out of their homes once again. He also said that the billboard was intentionally placed at the “epicenter” of the lifestyle and financial district.
“Considering that BGC is known as the home of flagship global and local brands, from culinary delights to the arts, fashion, and lifestyle options, BGC’s anamorphic display promises stories well told and experiences heightened,” Reyes said
“After 2 years of the pandemic, malungkot lahat, now I think we are ready for a big bang, recovery is under way, and nakikita naman natin, buhay na buhay na ang mga shopping natin, and we’re also planning to have a lot of Christmas activities in BGC.”
TL: After two years of the pandemic, everyone was sad, now I think we are ready for a big bang, recovery is under way, and that is more evident now, our shopping malls are now truly alive, and we’re also planning to have a lot of Christmas activities in BGC.
