The Infinix Zero Ultra joins the 200MP game! Soon to be available in the Philippines.

Another phone with a 200MP camera, and those other ones. MP isn’t everything.

‘Zero limits’ are the keywords here. The Zero Ultra is definitely that with its 200MP camera, freshly baked in Samsung’s foundries. This is the same sensor used on the 12T Pro, the ISOCELL HP1. Which means this has OIS too, and those other useless ones like the 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro. Bump that ultrawide to 16MP then we could see it as useful.

The display is a 6.8in. FHD+ curved AMOLED. And unlike other AMOLED Infinix phones, this one actually comes with a 120Hz refresh rate. Infinix had really used well their resources on this one. Of course, we don’t expect it to be as affordable as the company’s other handsets considering the high amount of resources used.

The phone uses a MediaTek Dimensity 920 chipset with a 6nm process. Looking at the specs, this chipset can only support 108MP single cameras. So, some of you might ask how will the 200MP sensor work here if it does not support it. The answer is pixel binning. If you could recall our Xiaomi 12T Pro article, this sensor can have a 4×4 binning, each resulting in a 12.5MP image which the chipset does indeed support. The phone is paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. No mention of the MicroSD card slot though.

The Infinix Zero Ultra is the third phone to equip Samsung’s latest 200MP HP1 sensor, behind the Xiaomi 12T Pro and Motorola Edge 30 Ultra. This 200MP camera has OIS and f/1.97 aperture. It also has OIS and Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF). Oh, there’s also the 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro if you’re interested in those.

To recall, the Samsung ISOCELL HP6 comes with an f/1.97 aperture, 0.64µm pixel size, and the sensor itself has a size of 1/1.22″. Not as large as the one on the Xiaomi 12 Ultra but due to pixel binning, it can create highly detailed shots that are suitable at night.

There is also a 16MP selfie camera, typical for the class. It has an in-display fingerprint scanner, USB-C port, 3.5mm jack, 5G services, Bluetooth 5.2, and Wi-Fi 6/6E connectivity. It also has a 4500mAh battery and a proprietary 180W fast charging. Lightning fast, but can be cumbersome.

It will be available in the Philippines but the price is yet to be announced. We have our sources so stay tuned as we release them right after the embargo lifts. It comes in Coslight Silver and Genesis Noir.

The phone is now available for purchase as it is listed in Lazada for Php 21,999. Currently, it’s down to just Php 19,999. Colours include Coslight Silver and Genesis Noir.
