The Realme Pad X is now official in India!

Maybe globally as well soon, including the Philippines.

The Realme Pad is Realme’s first tablet… and it was released under the budget segment. Okay, what a start. However, after that Realme released updates to their tablet line which included the Realme Pad Mini and now the Realme Pad X. It was first unveiled in China and now Realme is bringing it globally.

Despite the name, it’s not actually a flagship device. It does have pen and keyboard support which are nice. It has a wide 11in. WUXGA+ (2000x1200px) IPS LCD screen with 16.7 million colours. It also has DC dimming for consistent brightness. High refresh rates are still rare to come by to tablets due to optimization, so we won’t see it in the mainstream anytime soon.

Inside is the dreaded Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC, a 6nm chipset that has long cursed and blessed phones. This is paired with 4 or 6GB RAM and either 64 or 128GB internal storage. The ROM can further be expanded via MicroSD card while the RAM can be expanded virtually, up to 11GB total.

Speaking of slots, the tablet has a 5G version and a Wi-Fi-only version. The 4/64 variant comes with a Wi-Fi and 5G+Wi-Fi combo, while the higher-end 6/128 has both only.

It has an 8340mAh battery with a somewhat slow 33W fast charging for the capacity. Realme claims it can last for 1-and-a-half months on standby, 11 hours for video calls, 19 hours on video, and 138 hours of music streaming. This of course, depends on your usage. Due to the large battery, it also supports reverse charging.

The Realme Pad X is the first Realme tablet to support seamless transfer and connection to computers. Simply connect your tablet to a computer so that it mirrors it. After that, drag and drop your files whenever and wherever. It boots up with RealmeUI 3.0 based on Android 12.

Cameras are not usually a priority among tablets, as smartphones do that job a lot better and in a more compact size. So the Realme Pad X gets a single 13MP camera at the back and another 8MP at the front for high quality video calls. This one has performance more than capable for online classes as well as productivity and play. This is evident by its quad speaker system, Dolby Atmos, and Hi-Res Audio certification. It also has a 3.5mm jack to plug in your headset.

It comes with a pen and keyboard accessory sold separately. The attachable keyboard has a 280mAh battery inside. Surprisingly, the pen is way more expensive than the keyboard. Realme calls it the “Realme Pencil” and it obviously mimicks the Apple Pencil. The tablet starts at INR 19,999 (~Php 14K) for the 4/64 Wi-Fi only variant, INR 25,999 (~Php 18.1K) for the 4/64 Wi-Fi+5G variant, and finally INR 27,999 (~Php 19.5K) for the 6/128 Wi-Fi+5G option. It comes in Glowing Grey and Glacier Blue colours.

Meanwhile, the Realme Pencil starts at INR 5,499 (~Php 3.8K) and the keyboard at INR 4,999 (~Php 3.5K)

We’re hoping that it arrives in the Philippines as that would mean more tablet choices especially now that online classes is about to begin once more.
