Realme GT 2 Master Explorer is official in China!

It comes with a unique travel-themed design.

The Realme GT Master series takes a heavy emphasis on being elegantly designed based on a travel theme. The previous iteration had a uniquely suitcase-based design from a Japanese designer. Now, the successor, aside from having better specs, also has a unique design. Realme collaborated with Jae Jung to assist them with the design. It has a “special” vegan leather back with one of them having brown rivets.

The phone is now in-line with luxurious flagships, as opposed to being midranged. The phone has a 6.7in. FHD+ (2400x1080px) AMOLED with 120Hz refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. The fingerprint sensor is also located inside the screen as opposed to the sides, giving it a sleeker look. The display is further enhanced with Realme’s own X7 graphics chip

Instead of a Snapdragon 778G chipset, the phone is now fully equipped with a flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip. It is based on a 4nm node manufactured by TSMC. It also has a dual vapour chamber cooling system and, surprisingly, dual pressure-sensitive shoulder pads. A feature that’s only common on gaming phones.

Realme mentioned that its cameras have also been improved. It uses Realme’s own imaging architecture called Hypershot AI which includes 4 image engines that recognize the scene and then apply post-processing adjustments whenever necessary. The front camera is the popular 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor complemented with a 50MP ultrawide camera and a suspiciously gimmicky 2mp microscope lens with 40x magnification, in case you want to see the megaworld of bacteria. It has a typical 16mp front camera.

Charging has also significantly improved. From the 65W of the Realme GT Master to 100W to this new Master Explorer edition. It comes bundled with a 100W Gallium-Nitride charger that Realme claims to fully charge the phone in just 25 minutes. The battery capacity is 5000mAh.

Alleged “Realme x LV” Realme GT 2 Master Explorer.

It has 5G services, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 6, and NFC connectivity. Surprisingly, it has a headphone jack, making it one of the rarer flagships to have it. It comes in Rivets Brown, White, and Black in China. Allegedly, there is also a Louis Vuitton version of the phone although Realme has not confirmed it yet. The design originated from a third-party designer not affiliated with the company, so take this with not a pinch, but probably the entire shaker of salt.

If this version does not become official, you can always slap a Louis Vuitton skin on a regular smartphone. No one can tell the difference, I think.

The Realme GT 2 Master Explorer Edition starts at CNY 3,499 (~Php 29.2K) for the 8/128 configuration, CNY 3,799 (~Php 31.7K) for the 8/256 configuration; and finally, CNY 3,999 (~Php 33.4K) for the 12/256 configuration respectively.
