The Samsung Galaxy XCover 6 Pro is a rugged phone with a removable battery!

May be the most powerful phone with a removable battery yet, defeating the Fairphone 4.

Samsung officially launched the XCover 6 Pro, which was XTRA covered by the rumor mill. It was touted as the most powerful phone with a removable battery. The previous contender was the Fairphone 4 with a Snapdragon 750G chipset.

The XCover series is Samsung’s rugged phone line. The XCover 6 Pro, like others before it, is MIL-STD-810H certified, has an IP68 rating, and has a hot-swappable battery. In addition, the screen is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus Plus. Rugged phones are not everyone’s cup of tea and Samsung knows this. The phone is intended for use on outdoor heavy work such as on construction sites

The phone is powered by a 6nm Snapdragon 778G chipset which Samsung intentionally did not specify. There is 6GB RAM and 128GB storage on board as well as a MicroSD card slot.

The camera system involves a 50MP primary shooter alongside an 8mp ultrawide camera. In front is a 13mp punch-hole shooter. In terms of battery, it’s a 4050mAh battery charged via USB-C port and also comes with POGO charging pins that rapidly charge at 15W, if you could call that fast charging.

The display is the usual 6.6in. IPS LCD screen with FullHD+ (2400x1080px) resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Samsung noted that it’s the first phone to have 5G services as well as Wi-Fi 6/6E connectivity in the entire XCover lineup.

It comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner as well as Samsung Knox, the company’s own security suite for Android. It also has transparent sharing and protection options that professionals can easily tinker around with. In addition, it also comes with Samsung DeX to help users seamlessly connect with their computers and use the phone as if it were a tablet.

The phone would be available starting July 2022 in select markets in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East; with other regions coming at a later date. By then, we should be made aware of its prices. However, we don’t have confidence it will officially arrive in the Philippines because no XCover phone did.
