The Realme 9 4G is, as expected, expensive for the features it asks for.

Are you willing to pay for a Snapdragon 680 phone with a 108MP camera for a price of a higher midranger?

Last April, Realme launched the Realme 9 4G in India. The phone was also expected to arrive in other markets including the Philippines. Two months later, the phone finally arrived, with a stunning and brave price to match, along with its sleek, premium-like design and 108MP camera.

To recall, the phone has a tall 6.4in. FHD+ (2400x1080px) SAMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate. It uses a non-5G chipset, the classic and beloved Snapdragon 680 with an efficient 6nm process. It houses a total of four cameras. A 16mp front camera sitting on a punch-hole, and three others at the back. The main camera is the newly announced 108MP Samsung ISOCELL HM6 sensor. The other two include the 8mp ultrawide and a 2mp macro.

It has a standard 5000mAh battery complete with 33W fast charging. Its design is based on a “ripple hologram” as described by the company. This design features attractive wave lines and its colours are done in a way to make it look more premium than it actually is. It’s a simplistic and beautiful design that it shared with the Realme GT2 series. The phone has access to dynamic RAM, and can have a total of 13GB RAM.

It has a single bottom-firing speaker, a headphone jack, and a USB-C port for use in transferring data and charging. Other features include an in-display fingerprint scanner with a gimmicky heart rate sensor, 4G services, MicroSD card slot (up to 256GB), and Hi-Res Audio.

Okay, you might be skipping down here and everywhere for the price. If that’s what you’re waiting for, scroll no more as we reveal the price to be… *drum roll please* Php 14,999 for the 6/128 configuration as told by RealmeLeaks. Also, it will come with a FREE Realme Buds Air 2 Neo worth Php 1,990 on launch day. We suspect the ridiculously high price may stem from its use of a Super AMOLED screen and in-display fingerprint sensor; as well as the newly released 108MP camera.

The phone will be available for pre-orders starting tomorrow, 15th of June along with the free Realme Buds Air 2 Neo. The pre-order period will end on 19th of June. During the Lazada Super Brand Day Sale, the phone will be discounted to Php 12,499.
