It is Germany’s oldest tech exhibition, since 1924
After a year of hiatus thanks to COVID-19, IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin), or the Berlin Radio Show, is finally coming back this year. It will take place starting 2 September and will end on 6 September. It is a yearly exhibition for consumer electronics, appliances, information technology, and telecommunications where companies can show off their latest developments related to their field.
“Over five days, from 2 to 6 September 2022, IFA in Berlin will bring together global leading brands across consumer electronics, home appliances, information technology, and telecommunications – providing a unique opportunity and platform for the worldwide industry to rebuild. Taking place in early September, IFA spans global time zones between East and West during the run-up to the most important season for international retailers.”
“Now, though, it’s finally time to ‘get real’ and once again organize a full-size trade show at the grounds of Messe Berlin and in a city that is not only the capital of Europe’s largest consumer market but evolved as a European media hub as well,” said Jens Heithecker, IFA Executive Director, Executive Vice President Messe Berlin Group. “Many leading global brands have already committed their participation. As of now, we register high demand for the IFA Fitness & Digital Health area and the Home Appliances section.” IFA said in a statement.
As of 1st April 2022, visitors can enter the Messe venue with limited restrictions, such as entering freely without the need of proof-of-vaccination. Visitors from over 115 countries had already purchased tickets. This means the next exhibition will take place face to face, back before the pandemic days. CES was also held this year, but several companies went no show due to Omicron fears, but the event went on nonetheless. CES had tighter restrictions though and visitors were required to have facemasks and vaccination cards.
