Xiaomi to bring the Redmi 10 5G and the 5G version of the Redmi Note 11s to the Philippines soon!

The current iteration of the Redmi Notes is a serious mess

In China, the Redmi 10 5G is known as the Redmi Note 11E 5G

If you are already confused with Xiaomi’s current Redmi and Redmi Note lineup, then congratulations! You just finally learned about how Xiaomi makes their phones and partly, their marketing strategy.

Redmi 10 5G

The Redmi 10 5G was initially launched first in China, with a waterdrop notch design for some reason (even though most Redmi Notes now use a dot notch design). Although the Redmi Note 11E is geared more towards budget-oriented consumers. We think it’s appropriately named globally, as it’s not a Redmi Note but feels closer to the more budget-friendly Redmi series. So it fits as the Redmi 10 5G more.

The phone has a 6.58in. FHD+ IPS LCD panel complete with 90Hz refresh rate. It uses the Mediatek Dimensity 700 processor which is actually a better decision since the Snapdragon 480 is much more expensive in comparison. The only reason it uses the Dimensity 700 is for the 5G moniker in the name and not necessarily for performance. This chipset is paired with 4 or 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.

The phone is kept alive through its 5000mAh battery charged on an 18W USB-C port. For cameras, it has the usual flavours. A 50mp main camera complemented by the useless 2mp depth camera. In front is a pretty low-res 5mp camera.

It will launch with MIUI 13 based on Android 12. It has a Dual-SIM slot, Hi-Res Audio, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Prices are yet to be announced.

SPECS:

Redmi Note 11s 5G

Poco M4 Pro 5G. The phone to which the Redmi Note 11s 5G is rebadged from

The Redmi Note 11s 5G may look familiar to long-time Xiaomi and Poco fans. That is because the phone is essentially a rebadged Poco M4 Pro 5G. This is also one of Xiaomi’s marketing strategies. They rebrand phones from their other subsidiaries and then maybe have a slightly altered design so it fits the other brand more, in this case, the Redmi Note 11s 5G simply loses the “POCO” branding on the right and the black background for its cameras, which is mostly a POCO signature design.

The specs are also nearly identical. Which means whatever you get for the Poco M4 Pro 5G is the same for the Note 11s 5G so getting either device is fine. In this case, you get a 50mp main camera sensor, a Mediatek Dimensity 810 chipset, and a 6.67in. FHD+ AMOLED screen with 90Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. You also get the same battery capacity and charging rate, at 5000mAh and 33W fast charging respectively.

Both phones will launch in the Philippines soon, though Xiaomi didn’t specify when. We’ll update you for pricing.
