I really don’t get what’s with Xiaomi and their habit of confusing their customers and cannibalizing sales.
Ya know, Poco astonishes me, along with their parent Xiaomi. They always find ways to just rerelease their phones, then call them new. Now imagine if Apple did that, they would be blasted to all hell. To be quite frank, I wasn’t very excited with the launch of these two phones, and they’re downgrades too, especially the Poco X4 Pro. The Poco X3 Pro is a great phone with top-notch specs. It is a great alternative to the Poco F3 and X3 GT. It is the very definition of “budget gaming”
Okay so the Poco X4 has to be a lot better, a lot crazier, right? Maybe equipped with a Snapdragon 888 processor but priced at midrange, if not Qualcomm, then maybe Dimensity 1200? Haha, yeah no. That’s not how they’ve done things. Instead, the Poco X4 Pro 5G is a rehashed Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G. If they called this the “Poco X4 5G”, yeah it would have been somewhat acceptable. The difference lies in the design, and the signature Poco Yellow colour, which I actually like.

POCO M4 Pro 4G
If you’ve noticed, this entire article is just random banter about how these phones are rehashed Xiaomis. Well, that also goes for the M4 Pro 4G. It’s my blog, who cares?
The Poco M4 Pro 4G is stupidly and questionably more expensive than the 5G variant, you heard me right. And yes, the 5G variant also performs better. Both of these phones use Mediatek chips (Dimensity 810 for the Pro 5G, and Helio G96 for the 4G) so this just adds to the confusion. It makes the Poco M4 Pro 4G overpriced, and it kinda hurt itself in its confusion.
By the way, if the specs are way too familiar, that’s because it’s the global Redmi Note 11s with a different design, although nearly identical to that of the X4 Pro. Now that’s lazy on another level.
