A flagship phone in all respects!
The Motorola Moto G100 (known in China as the Motorola Edge S) was significant because it was the first phone to be equipped by the popular Snapdragon 870. Motorola is making an update to this device, this time it’s fully a flagship phone, coming with a Snapdragon 888 processor.
This news broke out first with a reliable leaker, Evan Blass, on Twitter, who shared the codename “Yukon”. Since then, there have been more details floating around the internet.
According to numerous rumours, the Moto G200 should come with a FHD+ screen with 144Hz refresh rate. If you can recall, there’s another phone by Motorola which has this display spec, the Motorola Edge 20 Pro. And like the Edge 20 Pro, the G200 will also arrive with SD888 at the helm. This is paired with 8GB RAM.
The camera also received some improvements. Instead of the primary 64mp camera seen on the Moto Edge S, this new phone will be equipped with a 108mp Samsung HM2 sensor, along with a 13mp ultrawide and a filler 2mp depth. While the G100/Edge S came with two punch holes, the G200 would only come with a single 16mp this time. Having two can be an eyesore to some.
While there isn’t a date yet to when the phone would be released, leakers say it would come next month. There is still a lot of time to change the spec sheet, but based on the specs given, it should remain the same as the official version. Hold your hype, as these are rumours and should not be taken for granted.
