Realme Book, launched in India.

Realme is launching two new products this 23rd September for the Philippine market: The Realme Book and the Realme GT Master Edition.

To recall, the Realme Book is Realme’s first laptop and is part of the 1+5+T marketing strategy by the company. This marketing strategy aims to strengthen the ecosystem Realme is building, so this laptop freely connects to any Realme phone and has multiple functions for them such as second screen.

For specs, the laptop has a 14in. IPS display with a 3:2 aspect ratio and 2K (2160×1440) resolution. The laptop weighs only 1.38kg and has a thickness of 14.9mm. For the performance aspect, the laptop is powered by either an 11th generation i3 or i5 processors (the “U” variant obviously). There is no i7 variant of the laptop. Because of this, the laptop uses Intel’s new integrated GPU called Iris Xe. Although not advisable, the laptop can be clocked by up to 4.2GHz. The laptop is, by default, shipped with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and a choice between 256 or 512GB PCIe SSD. Realme did not state if these options are expandable however.

For the battery, the laptop uses a 54Wh battery which could last up to 11h on a single use, according to Realme. This battery is supported by a 65W fast charging that can be charged through USB-C. For the sound, it uses stereo speakers that are tuned by Harman-Kardon. For ports, the laptop comes with not-so-many ports: there is a single 3.5mm audio jack, a single USB-A 3.1 1st gen, and two USB-C ports, one of which is Thunderbolt 4.

The Realme GT Master Edition is a, ironically, downgraded version of the original Realme GT. Starting off with its processor; instead of the Snapdragon 888 processor that the vanilla GT comes with, the Master Edition comes with a Snapdragon 778G processor. Of course, the Master Edition brags more about its suitcase design rather than its performance, as it was custom designed.

For the cameras, the Realme GT Master Edition uses the same setup as the vanilla version: a 64mp main with 8mp ultrawide and two practically useless 2mp depth and macro sensors. For selfies, the ME comes with a higher resolution 32mp sensor instead of the 16mp one found on the regular Realme GT.

It has a variety of configurations. While we don’t know yet what configurations Realme is planning to launch for this one, globally, the Realme GT ME has a choice between 6 or 8GB RAM and 128GB or 256GB storage respectively. Also, if you’re using wired headphones then you’re in luck cause both variants actually have the headphone jack still in place.

For the battery, the Master Edition uses a slightly smaller 4300mAh battery but uses the same 65W fast charging as the vanilla variant. Both have NFC and both can record in 4K, albeit the ME can only record in 30fps while the regular variant can record in either 30 or 60fps.

For the display, the Master Edition uses a 6.43in. SAMOLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate. It ships with Android 11 topped with Realme UI 2.0 out of the box and the phone has 1000 nits of peak brightness. Realme did not state if the phone does have tempered glass protection like Corning Gorilla Glass however.
