These include the Snapdragon 778G and even the future flagship chip, Snapdragon 898
Last July, Huawei unveiled their latest top-tier flagship, the P50 series. The phone had multiple chipset options but guess what, none of them have 5G access. Even the Snapdragon 888 version of the phone only uses 4G, which will definitely damage the sales of the phone.
According to Digital Chat Station, the company has access to Qualcomm chipsets, not just flagships but also midrangers like the Snapdragon 778G. Like the SD888 found on the Huawei P50, these chipsets are restricted to only using 4G. The tipster did not mention which phones would be getting this chipset though. It could possibly be the Nova 9 series that was teased by Huawei on Weibo. In addition, this handset was also spotted on TENAA, revealing a Huawei P50-like design.
While it’s still blocked from using 5G tech, at least there is some progress. The company can use Qualcomm chipsets after all but they are far limited. Slowly but surely, Huawei can rise again. In addition to this, the same tipster said that Huawei may also use Mediatek processors in the future.
