MIUI 13 is just around the corner. The reveal was first seen in Xiaomi’s cleaner app. Last 26th May, Xiaomi released a beta version of the Cleaner app (V21.05.26 beta). While this seems like a regular update, there is something interesting that appeared in its changelog.
The changelog said that the cleaner app has added support for floating windows for MIUI 13, when the latest MIUI is MIUI 12.5. Meaning, MIUI 13 is on its way and is under development and testing.
Since the cleaner app showed compatibility for MIUI 13, this could mean that MIUI 13 will roll out soon, at least the beta version. The stable version should come a little later in the year. Also, there was a rumor in early May showing a list of phones compatible with MIUI 13, along with a release announcement of June. In that same tweet, there are devices, including the Mi 8 and Mi Mix 1, 2 and 3, that won’t be getting MIUI 13.
There is no official announcement yet, nor were there official features mentioned. However, if ever it was released this month (which we believe is unlikely), don’t expect that you will get the update on your device immediately, as Xiaomi will still release beta builds, before releasing the widespread stable builds. So some users might be able to update their phone much sooner than others.
