A budget phone with some extra bits and chunks
ZTE has announced a new budget phone, with its main highlight being its 108MP camera (1/1.67″, f/1.8). It also comes with the signature red power/fingerprint scanner, so you know it is indeed, a ZTE phone by design.
The phone comes with a design that feels similar to the Honor X8b. Also, like the X8b, the phone boasts a 108MP camera and large 256GB storage at an affordable price. The phone is most likely designed by the same ODM.
The phone is made of AG Glass, with either a glossy or matte finish. Typically, this is reserved on midrange or flagship devices. The phone comes in three colours as seen above. These are Glacier Green, Stardust Grey, and Sunshine Gold.
There are three other cameras that are most likely just filler, although ZTE did not say much about it. It also has the trendy ring light flash as well as a 16MP selfie camera.
The phone boasts 120Hz refresh rate but to keep costs down, the resolution is only HD+ (1600x720px). This display is measured at 6.7″ diagonally.
ZTE isn’t a company that’s always keen on details. The chipset used is unnamed, but the website did say it is an octa-core chipset with 2GHz clock speeds. Given its suggested price, it is safe to say that it does not have 5G capabilities. The phone comes with 8 or 12GB RAM, as well as 256GB ROM and also includes a MicroSD Card slot to store your images, files, videos, and recordings, up to 1TB.
Finally, the Blade V70 has a 5000mAh battery, typical of its size, as well as 22.5W fast charging. Based on the render models above, the phone has a single bottom-firing speaker, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and of course, USB-C port. It also has a 3.5mm jack.
The phone launches with MyOS 14 based on Android 14 and also has its own little dynamic island called “Live Island”, now on its 2nd iteration.
As mentioned in the title, the phone has not launched yet, both globally and in the Philippines. We’ll keep an eye out for it!
