They are proud to be young and so they dared to leap, now they’re making it real!
For 2024, realme announced a brand overhaul as the company is consistently growing. It’s no longer just a humble company under Oppo rebranding their phones, no, realme is a company with its own image, community, and designs independent of its parent company and it really wanted to reflect that.
In an open letter by CEO and founder Sky Li in China, he stated that realme will shift from “opportunity-oriented” to “brand-oriented” as the company has already cemented itself in the smartphone industry. Now, it’s the time to be innovative and become a global leader.
realme is a company founded at the heat of the smartphone industry, wherein multiple companies outpace each other and realme gained a foothold by using a differentiation strategy that focuses on the youth, hence why their smartphone designs appear to be more modern and flamboyant than your usual smartphone brand. It has continued this target audience for the next five years of its existence.
If you can recall, realme has accumulated over 200 million users globally and this number has continued to grow since.
“The focus of our new positioning is not so much a redirection as it is an opening up. This will guide our long-term investment and development which will help us better connect with more young users, in more markets, and more regions of the world.” Sky Li said.
With this rebranding, realme will focus on three core areas in user experiences. These are photography, performance, and design. Furthermore, the company also emphasized where each of their series will cater. The GT series is aimed for performance, the Number series for photography, and the C-series positioned as “essential plus”, or the budget range. The company also announced its intention to invest heavily on research and development.
We’re looking forward to your daring leaps, realme! Here’s to a great 2024!
