Huawei P60 Pro, DXOMark’s current camera top-notcher, embarks on a glorious journey in the Philippines!

The artistic vision of Huawei pulls through, even without Leica!

The Huawei P60 Pro is the latest and greatest of all Huawei’s smartphones. Sadly, the P60 Art has not been announced to be available in the Philippines which is a shame since that phone has a pretty unique design that when you see one, you will say “Hey, that’s Huawei’s new flagship”. Of course, we’re not saying that the P60 Pro has a terrible design, but the P60 Art sure does make the series look unique so we’re anticipating that too.

The P60 Pro comes with the usual flavour of flagships plus some extra bells and whistles. Its main feature is the retractable primary lens which Huawei calls XMAGE. This primary camera has 48MP resolution with Phase and Contrast Focus and OIS. There are other two cameras available such as a 13MP ultrawide camera and a 48MP telephoto. Great hardware can only be great with great software to complement it. Hence the reason why this phone topped DXOMark’s tests. There’s also a 13MP selfie camera which scored a lot lower.

Now, onto the display. In front is a curved 6.67″ WQHD+ (2700x1220px) LTPO3 OLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate and Kunlun Glass protection. There’s also a 4G-only Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 (4nm) chipset inside with 8 or 12GB RAM and 256GB or 512GB storage.

There is a 4815mAh Li-Po battery with 88W SuperCharge fast charging alongside 50W fast wireless charging. The phone boots with EMUI 13 with APK support and Huawei Mobile Services. No Google? Don’t fret! These days, that’s no longer an issue as third-party apps like GBox makes it possible for you to log in on Google.

It has Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and two-way satellite messaging which is useful for those disastrous moments where cellular towers will not work. The storage is expandable but through the company’s proprietary NM Card technology.

The phone has an IR Blaster, a feature common among the P series, a USB-C port, stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and a dual Nano-SIM Slot. Also, the phone is IP68 rated so if you’re in a pool, you don’t have to worry about the phone’s circuits being fried for 30 minutes.

It is priced at PHP 58,999 (8/256) and PHP 69,999 (12/512) and you can choose from Violet, Rococco Pearl, Black, and Green. Also, you could extend its warranty for PHP 3,999. This gives a year extra from the available 1-year warranty.

It is available through Huawei’s concept stores and Lazada and Shopee. Pre-orders start today and end on May 25.
