In addition, the phone is now ready to combat other flagships in China
Early in December, OnePlus announced a new event called “Cloud 11”. In a nutshell, this event was announced in order to give birth to the company’s next flagship, the OnePlus 11 5G, as well as the Buds Pro 2. Both of these are interesting products that shouldn’t be missed. Particularly, the OnePlus 11 5G has a more affordable price tag that has a similar theme as older OnePlus flagships.
Prior to the global release, OnePlus launched it in China. Here, we can finally confirm the design and specs. As we have (easily) guessed, the OnePlus 11 5G has a similar design to the OnePlus 10 Pro albeit with a circular camera hump. It retained the Hasselblad branding and so the camera app would have Hasselblad-exclusive features.
In terms of specs, it is what you would expect in 2023 flagships. Particularly, the 6.7in. 1440p LTPO3 OLED screen with 120Hz variable refresh rate. This could go down as low as 1Hz. OnePlus said there would be over 100 apps that would support this change. However, this may only apply to Chinese apps and not the global ones.
The cameras were also upgraded from the 10 Pro. Here, it uses a 50MP Sony IMX890 primary camera retaining the multi-directional PDAF and OIS. The second camera is a 48MP Sony IMX581 ultrawide camera. This also serves as a useful variant of a macro camera. Finally, you have the 32MP Sony IMX709 telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom. The front camera is the usual 16MP retained from the previous flagship.
As for the battery, it’s the usual 5000mAh battery with 100W charging. This is an upgrade over the 80W the 10 Pro had. Wireless charging seems like not an option here sadly.
OnePlus has improved haptic feedback by giving the phone a large 60.2mm3 X-axis motor. The company claims this is the biggest X-Axis motor found in any smartphone yet. This is noticeable when you’re playing competitive games, and you would really feel the satisfying clicks and taps for every move you make.
There is also Hi-Res Audio, no 3.5mm jack, stereo speakers, 5G services, Bluetooth 5.3, and Dual-band Wi-Fi.
As OnePlus and Oppo slowly merged, the Chinese version uses ColorOS 13 based on Android 13. The global variant will get OxygenOS instead but who could tell the difference apart from the name? The Emerald Green colour that was seen on the OnePlus 9 Pro was retained here, alongside a matte Black one with a sandstone-like finish. Prices start at CNY 3,999 (~Php 32.5K) for the 12/256 version and goes all the way to CNY 4,899 (~Php 39.8K) for the 16/512 variant.
If the device reaches Philippine shores, expect a more outrageous price point. This is thanks to heavy import duties. OnePlus hints that the OnePlus 11 5G would be available here once the global event hits.
