And as expected, a premium price tag
Nokia officially brings the premium-looking and sustainable X30 5G to the Philippines. Like almost all of Nokia’s handsets, the phone’s main feature is its software updates. You can get this phone upgraded up to Android 15 and the phone also features 3 years of warranty. Most smartphone companies are generous to offer even 2.
The specs are mediocre outside of those features. Here we get a 6.43in. AMOLED with 90Hz refresh rate and a FullHD+ (2400x1080px) resolution. The phone is made with a 100% recycled aluminium frame and 65% recycled plastic for the back plate. A special feature is Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection which is unheard of outside of flagships and select flagship killers.
It uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 chipset with a 6nm process. This is paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage of which can be expanded. As per Nokia tradition, it runs vanilla Android with very few modifications to its software.
There are also two cameras, and a 16MP punch-hole selfie. The main camera has 50MP resolution while the other camera is a 13MP ultrawide. What’s great about its main camera is that it features OIS. Although Nokia did not state which sensor it uses.
There is a 4200mAh battery with 33W fast charging. In addition, an IP67 rating which is surprisingly rare for its price. It has no headphone jack, instead the USB-C port is used as the jack. It has 5G services, Wi-Fi 6/6E, FM Radio, Bluetooth 5.1, and NFC. It also has enhanced audio support including OZO Spatial Audio, and aptX HD which should make up for the lack of a headphone jack.
The asking price is Php 27,990 which, come to think of it, is a stupidly expensive offering for the likes of the Snapdragon 695 (for comparison, the Nothing Phone (1) uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ chipset at a similar price). The phone also features an in-display fingerprint scanner. Colours include Cloudy Blue and Ice White
