The Vivo Y22s is yet another budget phone from Vivo, but this time it comes with up to 16GB Virtual RAM

It’s coming to the Philippines

Vivo announced that another Y-series phone, the Y22s is coming to the Philippines. Its main highlights are its Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset and 8+8GB RAM. The other 8 taken from its 128GB internal storage. The phone is also the first Y-series phone to be released this month by Vivo.

The Y22s features a 6.55in. HD+ (1612x720px) IPS LCD with 90Hz refresh rate. The phone was originally released first in Vietnam. Inside this phone is a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging and the aforementioned Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset based on an efficient 6nm process. Because of that, this phone lacks any 5G capabilities.

BBK’s new budget phones are designed to only hold two cameras at most. The Y22s has a 50MP main camera with a 2MP “complementary” while the front houses the 8MP front camera.

That’s pretty much to it really. It charges via USB-C and comes with 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and headphone jack. What else is there to say?

The phone has no price yet in the Philippines but in Vietnam, it costs VND 59,900,000 (~Php 14.4K). That is stupidly and ridiculously overpriced. We’re hoping Vivo prices it more fairly so it can actually attract customers. Knowing Vivo though, their budget phones aren’t as price-friendly as those with Realme, Infinix, Tecno, or Xiaomi.
