Tecno Pova 4 with a 90Hz screen and a large 6000mAh battery will hit Philippine shores soon!

Big batteries are always iconic for Pova phones. We also like the geometric design, it helps it stand out.

The POVA series align itself as a power user’s phone. This includes the gamers that play almost non-stop every day and those that need a powerful and long-lasting battery. The POVA 4 is again a mix of both of those things.

Its design is pretty much gaming. It has a geometrically-shaped camera hump and an aggressive yet simplistic back. It mimics those of more expensive gaming phones but without RGB lighting to keep costs low.

The phone comes with a 6.82in. HD+ (1600x720px) IPS LCD screen with 90Hz refresh rate. Aside from the gaming performance, the phone also mimics that of mechanical keyboards thanks to its X-Axis linear motor that should provide a stimulating haptic feedback.

It is powered by a power-efficient MediaTek Helio G99 chipset built upon a 6nm TSMC process and is a good alternative to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680. This comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage both of which could be extended. RAM virtually, and the ROM through the use of a MicroSD card. As a gaming phone, it comes with a heat dissipation system, and a VC chamber.

Speaking of power efficiency, this phone can probably last more than 12 hours of use thanks to its large 6000mAh battery. Unfortunately, you only get 18W of fast charging which could hamper its charging time. It comes with stereo speakers and noise-canceling microphones that are determined via an AI algorithm. This is helpful for let’s players who record themselves talking and playing. Not only that, but these speakers have Hi-Res Audio too!

There are only two cameras at the back although that’s not really the main focus of this gaming handset. The main camera is a 50MP sensor while the second is a 2MP depth sensor. At the front is an 8MP selfie camera housed on a dewdrop notch.

It has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, USB-C port, and a 3.5mm jack. It also has 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6/6E, NFC, and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity. It has a dual Nano-SIM slot.

It is coming to the Philippines and its price will definitely surprise everyone. It’s pretty affordable but we’ll have to let you know when it comes out. It comes in either Cryolite Blue and Uranolith Grey. It also launches with HiOS 8.6 based on Android 12. This software skin also comes with a gaming assistant called Game Space 2.0 and a performance-tweaking utility called Panther Engine 2.0

EDIT: The phone is now available for purchase and you’ll never guess that its price is just Php 7,999. In addition, the phone is down to just Php 7,499 for its debut sale! It’s exclusively available in Shopee as of this writing.
