It was previously only available for iOS users. It aims to educate STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) students worldwide.
Numerade is an educational tool catering to STEM students worldwide. It previously held a USD 100 million evaluation last year. The subscription-based service was founded in Los Angeles back in 2018 by Nhon Ma who is an educator himself and is also the current CEO of the company.
The main goal of the company is to provide an easy and affordable way of educating STEM students worldwide through the lectures of top STEM educators worldwide. This goal was fueled further amid the COVID-19 pandemic when home-based learning became the norm and students were forced to stay inside to prevent the spread of the disease. Since then, the company has grown and has over 60 million students using the platform
The company jumpstarted first on iOS. If you’re an engineering student and needed assistance with your STEM strand and/or Engineering course, then this app might be worth a subscription. It has short-form STEM videos that are easy to understand and learn. It’s like Brilliant.org in many ways.
The company has also recently announced that the Android version of the app is now ready for download. According to the listing, the app has over 1 million textbook videos and also provides step-by-step solutions to any mathematical problem you may encounter.
Numerade also has asynchronous video lessons created by trusted and top educators. Users can also ask questions directly through the app and an educator will be there ready to answer them, so you can trust that the app provides legitimate and educational information.
This is also the third app that Numerade has released this year followed by StudyParty which was released back in February. It is a social media app where students can study along with their friends and other students. The other was the aforementioned Numerade Educator app for iOS which was released first for the iPad last March in which educators can create videos and get paid.
“With the launch of our Android mobile app, Numerade is taking another step toward our goal of democratizing STEM education for all students,” said CEO and founder Nhon Ma. “By expanding to this new platform, Numerade will be able to reach tens of millions of students around the world who would otherwise be unable to access world-class educators and top-level STEM instruction, especially in countries such as India and the Philippines where Android use far outpaces that of iOS.”
“The belief that everyone deserves access to a high-quality STEM education has always been at the core of who we are, and we’re excited for this new phase in our mission to close the educational opportunity gap,” he added
Users can download the Numerade Android app on Google Play. Alternatively, iOS users can download the Educator app on the App Store, along with StudyParty.
