Ready to sacrifice one of your kidneys? Or maybe both?
In an exclusive event, Lenovo has announced a new laptop for their popular Yoga series of detachable and 2-in-1 laptops. This laptop is called the Lenovo Slim 7 Pro and is technically a buffed Lenovo Slim 7i Pro. It is intended mostly for intense office/study, hobby or work use.
First the laptop comes with a 14in. OLED screen, which is its main feature. It is also the first laptop to bring Windows 11 by default (others have Windows 11 as a free upgrade). In addition, the laptop comes with Lenovo Go Accessories, a series of accessories intended for PC users, like a wireless optical mouse powered by USB-C, or the Lenovo Go Wireless Vertical mouse for ergonomics. There is also a software suite called the Lenovo Go Central Software Suite. Other accessories include the Wireless Split Keyboard and the Wireless Numpad.
For the specs, we already talked about the 14in. OLED with Dolby Vision, touchscreen support, 2.8K resolution (2880×1800 px) and 90Hz refresh rate. This OLED is a Samsung E4 AMOLED that is typically seen on flagship phones and tablets. The laptop uses an AMD processor, up to Ryzen 9-5900HX, which provide extremely good performance whether gaming, rendering 3D models or intense video editing (since it’s not the “U” variant, it should not lag even the heaviest of games). This is complemented by the integrated AMD Radeon Graphics that the CPU comes with. The use of an AMD processor instead of Intel meant that the the Slim 7 Pro can be sold at a much affordable price.
The laptop has Dolby Atmos certified sound along with stereo speakers, which should provide crispy clear sound, as expected from a laptop at this price range. The laptop also comes with 16GB LPDDR4 RAM which is not expandable. It also comes with 1TB SSD storage which is also not expandable as it only has a single slot (though both the RAM and storage are replaceable thanks to these slots)
For the ports, there are plenty. These include the 3.5mm audio jack, a single USB 3.2 Gen 1 port, two USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 ports that supports Power Delivery 3 and DisplayPort 1.4, and WLAN+Bluetooth 5.1 port. Unfortunately, it seems like the laptop does not have an SD Card Slot nor HDMI port. The laptop charges through USB-C, with the included 95W USB-C charger.
The laptop comes with an aluminium frame and cover and bottom, an optional backlit keyboard and weighs a total of 1.32kg. In addition, through its IR Camera, your face can be scanned as an unlock feature for Windows Hello, similar to FaceID. There are also two microphones included with the laptop, as well as a webcam (obviously).
The Slim 7 Pro is available in the Philippines through these partner stores. You can also browse the Lenovo Yoga store in Lazada. Currently, there are two laptops listed, one with Ryzen 7-5800H and the higher-end Ryzen 9-5900HX which are both available in Lazada. The laptop is not listed yet on Lenovo’s website, but is available to purchase in partner retailers like Villman and PCExpress. The prices for these laptops are Php64,995 and Php69,995 respectively. The laptop also comes with a FREE Lenovo Tab M8 upon purchase.
