Comes with entry-level 5G phone specs at probably midrange prices
The Nokia G50 was launched a week ago, ahead from the expected October launch, which Nokia would launch an entry-level tablet. The G50 is just a passable 5G phone with one main advantage: Stock Android with up to two major fresh updates.
For the display, the phone uses a 6.82in. 720p IPS LCD panel. For the processor, it uses the entry-level 5G processor, Snapdragon 480 5G. Do not underestimate this processor though, as it is equivalent to the Dimensity 700 in terms of performance.
For the camera, it uses quite a typical setup: a 48mp main shooter, a pretty low-res 5mp ultrawide and a 2mp depth sensor. They are not Zeiss-coated, as expected from an entry-level phone.
For the battery, it has a typically large 5000mAh battery with support for up to 18W fast charging. Other specs include NFC support, USB-C, 3.5mm audio port, MicroSD slot and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The phone is also pre-equipped with a 30-day subscription to ExpressVPN and Spotify. Availability starts on 30th September and starts at USD 300 (~Php 15.3K) for the 4/64 configuration. If that’s not enough for you (surely it won’t be), there’s also the 6/128 configuration, although no prices have been announced yet for that one.
