TCL is on a roll today. Currently, they are expanding to other markets, such as the Philippines, and is more than willing to grow internationally, as their own brand. They handle brands like Alcatel and formerly, Blackberry.
As you may known, TCL is a company that makes televisions, as well as displays; and the company started making flexible OLED panels as early as 2019.
The company is once again, presenting a new concept, called “Fold N’ Roll”. It combines the company’s “dragonhinge” technology, which was first presented in MWC 2019 with TCL’s first foldable, along with an extendable display panel. So the phone has a 6.87in. display that could extend up to 10 inches. Come to think about it, that’s almost netbook size.
TCL has presented a demo, shown above. The phone will not be for sale as this is just a prototype. However, it is fun to see that phones can still become innovative, even in a world filled with dot notches, waterdrop notches or full rectangles. TCL is “still exploring technical specifications”. Although the Fold N’ Roll may not hit the market anytime soon, TCL said they will be presenting a foldable phone before the year ends.
