Nokia has announced several new smartphones during its last launch event. These phones are budget-oriented but also promise of delivering at least 3 years of Android updates, thanks in part of the Android One program which Nokia is currently a part of. These phones are the C10, C20, G10, G20, X10 and X20.
Because there are several smartphones, we’ll try to summarise the specs as sweet and short as possible.
The Nokia C10, part of Nokia’s C lineup, is an ultrabudget phone powered by Android 11 Go edition. It comes with a 5mp main and selfie sensor, a 6.52in. HD+ display and 3000mAh battery. For the processor, it is a UNISOC SC7731E. These specs are bare minimum, but that’s what makes it an ultrabudget phone.
The Nokia C20, also part of Nokia’s ultrabudget C lineup, has the same specs as the C10, except it uses a UNISOC SC9863A. If this chipset sounds familiar to you, that’s because it’s also the same chipset that the Cherry Mobile Aqua S9 uses, albeit with a more “mainstream” package.
Let’s go over the two G series. First is the G10. The G10 is equipped with the same 6.52 in. HD+ IPS LCD panel as the C series but with regular Android 11. It has a 13mp triple camera module, the other two being a 2mp depth and macro sensors. For the selfie cam, it uses a single 8mp sensor on the waterdrop notch. It is powered by a 5050mAh battery and Mediatek Helio G25.
The G20 has similar specs as the G10, except it uses a 48mp quad camera setup with a 5mp ultrawide and 2mp macro and depth sensors; as well as Mediatek Helio G35 built in. While the G10 comes with a choice of 3 or 4GB RAM with 32GB storage, the G20 comes with a spacious option of 4GB RAM with a choice between 64 or 128GB storage.
The X series is Nokia’s “higher midrange” lineup. The X10 and X20 are capable of 5G and are the only two phones that are 5G enabled that was announced from the live event.
Both the Nokia X10 and X20 are equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 5G, an 8nm 5G processor intended for budget midrangers. Both phones come with a 6.67in. FHD display as well as 4470mAh Li-Po batteries with 18W fast charging. Both also have access to FM Radio. Also, unlike the other two phones, these two use a dot notch display.
Their differences lie in the camera. The X10 has a 48mp quad camera setup, while the X20 uses a 64mp quad camera setup. The selfie camera is different too, with the X20 using a 32mp selfie sensor and the X10 only using 8mp, which is strange, considering they are nearly the same handset. The X10 also has more choices, making it more versatile than the X20. For the X10, you have a choice between 6/64, 4/128 or 6/128, while the X20, you have only two choices, with either a 6 or 8GB RAM with 128GB storage.
There is no word yet for availability in the Philippines, but it is more than likely these phones will reach our shores, so stay tuned for the pricing!
