First-day success: The Honor X9a 5G sold well on its launch day.

Who knew that toughened glasses and premium design could really put some people’s curiosity

Customers lining up to get their hands on the new Honor X9a 5G

The Honor X9a 5G is now official. Before its launch, the device was constantly advertised as having a curved 120Hz premium OLED with toughened glass, tougher than the competition. Although, it appears to not have any sort of popular tempered glass like Corning Gorilla Glass, several content creators proved this marketing tactic by abusing the screen to all sorts of things, such as using the phone to smash watermelons, getting it run over by cars, and of course, the method of simply dropping it.

The company shared a photo of a crowd in SM Megamall showing interest in the device. For sure not all of them are buying the phone, but some madlad bought 50 of these handsets. What a beast.

The phone has a price of Php 16,990 and comes in Emerald Green or Titan Silver. Its main feature, as mentioned, is the 120Hz curved OLED screen. Other features include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G chipset, a 64MP primary camera, and a large 5100mAh battery with 40W fast charging.

By the way, it’s not just SM Megamall, there’s also a ridiculously large crowd over at SM North Edsa. This proves more that the phone is a huge success to the masses. For those who missed it, this event would last for a week so you could go ahead and check it out.
